Why framing is important for artists

December 23, 2009
Posted in Picture Frames — Written by Jack

Artists sometimes fail to get full recognition for their hard work and one of the reasons behind this is a lack of presentation. The artist prepares excellent pictures but fails to draw buyers for the work. If you want your work to be appreciated by someone you need to invest in good quality frames. Frames enhance the beauty of the picture.

Presentation is a prerequisite of good business in the art world. You can earn good money by being presentable with your art work. Well framed pictures often reflect the artist’s personality and mood and must complement the art work itself. A picture is incomplete without a proper frame.

Every art work has a life which needs to be preserved for as long as possible. Make sure if you are going to preserve the picture that the material used does not have any acidic element in it. The acid in the material may damage the pictures. The use of a mount is recommended to keep the glass and picture separate and a barrier board will protect the reverse of the piece, restricting the effect that age can have on the picture.
