Simple tips for picture framing

Listed below are a few tips for framing your pictures and artwork, in order to achieve a perfect fit.

1. Place rubber or cork tips in the lower corners of the back of the frame. This will prevent the picture frame from tilting and also protect the wall.

2. If you have paintings or pictures of standard size then you should try stock picture frames. These types of picture frames are of designer quality and very cost effective. You can buy them in bulk if you have many paintings or pictures to frame.

3. Place a small piece of sticky tape on the wall before you drive the hook or nail into it. This will prevent the plaster from chipping.

4. Test different coloured mats before you choose. A different coloured mat can change the effect of your artwork, although it is recommended that you choose grey coloured mats over off white, which is a traditional colour.

5. Keep the picture rings close to the top of the picture frame. This will keep your picture flat against the wall.

Keep these 5 important tips in mind when picture framing and enhance the look of your picture.
