Protecting your artwork from damage

March 3, 2010
Posted in Picture Frames — Written by Amelia

Whilst making your artwork look good, it is also just as important to protect it. Many people do not realise that the frame that you use is not only making your artwork look attractive, it is also protecting it from any damage that could incur once you have hung it on the wall.

Any piece of artwork that is left unframed can become damaged overtime. At first you may not notice the damage, but as time goes on the damage becomes worse and worse, which will result in your artwork becoming an eyesore.

Framing your art may be just as expensive as the artwork itself but it is a worthwhile investment. The frame, the mount and the glass all have their own role to play when it comes to protecting your artwork. Whether it is preventing it from harmful rays from the sun, stopping any moisture from collecting inside the frame or just stopping the artwork from becoming turned up at the corners or crumpled, it is vitally important that you use a frame when displaying your various types of art.

Picture frames can be custom made so you will be able to find the right type and size of frame to suit almost any piece of artwork.
