It is easy to forget to use a mount when you are framing a new piece of artwork. Often they are neglected by individuals because they do not realise the purpose of having a mount inside a frame.

Mounts serve a very important purpose when they are used when framing and they should never be forgotten about unless you want to your new painting or photograph to be ruined within a matter of months or years.

As well as helping to frame a piece of artwork beautifully, mounts are also there to preserve and protect. In particular, when have framed a painting or a photograph, the last thing you want is for the glass of the frame to come into contact with artwork itself. Glass can cause damage to various types of artwork.

In addition to creating a buffer between the glass and the artwork, this buffer helps to prevent any moisture collecting inside the glass which could lead to condensation, mould and mildew which can seriously damage any type of art.

It is for these reasons, you should never forget to use a mount when you are framing.
