Framing your favourite photographs

February 26, 2010
Posted in Photo Frames — Written by Amelia

Having your favourite photographs of your family professionally framed is not as expensive as one might expect. If you consider that you are going to be displaying these photographs in your home for a considerable amount of time it is worthwhile investing in the frame that is going to surround them whilst they are on display.

Photographs can be blown up to any size that you want, so you need to make sure that the frame you are getting is going to fit your photograph perfectly. Having an ill fitting frame will make the photograph look very unprofessional and you should seek advice from a framer if you don’t know what you are doing.

Professional framers will be able to tell you exactly which frame would look best for your photos as well as what type of mount you should be using. When framing photos you need to use a mount to separate the glass from the photograph itself. The mount also acts as another frame to enhance and make your photo stand out from the frame.

If your photographs are black and white you should choose a black or white frame for them. Whereas coloured photos can be framed in a simple but colourful frame should you so wish.
