As a shodouka (Japanese calligrapher), it is very difficult to get standard frames to for the various papers (araragi and such) that I use for Japanese calligraphy.

Therefore I was delighted to discover eFRAME. I could simply measure the piece, type in the measurements, and then await delivery of the frames.

Excellent and simple as well…

The White Water Group is a London-based leadership consultancy with clients throughout the UK and Europe, and an eFRAME valued customer.

When we chose our new office we wanted something stylish, a bit edgy and warm too! So we chose a building off Bermondsey Street, near the Shard – a neighbourhood full of funky shops and restaurants.

When it came to decorating the office we went for bold colours on white, which provides the perfect canvas for photographs. We have a couple of rooms where we work with our executive coaching clients as well as a couple of meeting rooms. I have decided to decorate one of them with framed photographs that illustrate the news and political events of the last 40 years, starting with the moon landing and finishing with the Japanese tsunami.

I am still looking for photographs (with modest royalties) to add to the collection. Ideas and links welcome! I have chosen A4 prints so I can add as many as I want to the wall.

I am artist based in Twickenham, South West London.

I make bold, decorative and large-scale oil and mixed media on canvas. I also produce small mounted prints of these works, and find eFRAME great for this.

My paintings focus on retro interiors, sculptural plants, flowers and occasionally a sinister crow or two!

I’ve just finished a 6′x5′ commission for an Oxfordshire carehome.

Kandy has been developing her passion for all things photographic since she studied the art as part of her media & sociology degree at Goldsmiths, London in 2000.

Moved out of London to the seaside with her daughter at the end of her studies and got a job as assistant to Sussex photographer Christina Chelmick www.christinachelmick.com.

Now, Kandy is director of her own photographic company with a growing portfolio of satisfied customers.

As well as being a business and an artistic venture, Kandy also provides pure and digital photographic tuition as occupational therapy at Headway centres for those recovering from acquired brain injury.

eFrame have been amazingly easy to use and provide a really high level of customer service. I’ve ordered all my frames from eFrame for 4 exhibitions and have had no problems at all.

Kandy’s images and website are first class – so why not check the out here: www.acklandphotography.co.uk

Two of my favorite current trends in home decor are adding chalkboard walls to nearly any space and hanging multiple framed images to create art walls. In a recent project I combined these two treatments, creating an art wall over a chalkboard wall in my husband’s office.”

Regular eFRAME customers may want to take advantage of the My Gallery facility within the eFRAME Studio. This killer app allows you to store the detailed specification of one or more frames to be readily accessed and used again in the future. There’s no limit to how many frame or mount specs you can keep. Some of our customers who order frequently confirm this is a big time-saver for them!

Use the green Add to Gallery buttons in the studio to store your specs, and view your stored specs under the blue My Gallery button. Just think what you could be doing with the time you’ll save!

Home is a trade show which attracts buyers from all the main design and interiors stores (John Lewis, Not On The High Street, Selfridges, Heals, Anthropologie and so on). It runs alongside its big brother show, Topdrawer, which showcases gifts and fashion accessories to buyers and is a major barometer for future trends. The shows, which ran mid-January 2012 for three days, are the first buying shows of the year, which means some of things spotted there are what you’ll see in stores later this year.

And trends for frames? So far we suggest simple rather than ornate, and light wood, rather than black to mirror the Danish influence we are seeing.

Birds have always fascinated humans. Their flight has inspired writers, artists and engineers to create poems, legends, novels, airplanes and superheroes. The new BBC documentary Earthflight frames this fascination in a way that nobody has before. It’s awesome.

Earthflight was made for the BBC by John Downer Productions in high definition. I can imagine they spent years devising the methods needed to capture these shots, and then some more to shoot them.

The results, the amazing detail in which you can see their bodies interacting with the wind and the extreme angles, are incredible:

How can you tell good art from bad? As RTÉ searches for our most-loved painting, that’s also a question raised by two high-profile exhibitions. GEMMA TIPTON investigates how to spot the difference

WHO DECIDES WHAT ART IS? How does one artist end up with an exhibition at the Irish Museum of Modern Art while another, with what might look like very similar work, fails to make the grade? How come popular doesn’t always mean good? And in an art world where anything goes, what makes some artists go further and faster than others?

With RTÉ looking for Ireland’s most-loved painting, ahead of a documentary on the subject to be screened in April, it’s a good time to ask whether it is possible to tell a good artist from a weak one any more. Ask anyone in the art world and they’ll give you the same answer: artists decide what art is.

via But is it art? – The Irish Times – Sat, Jan 21, 2012.

We think that if you like it, and it’s framed, then it’s art.

Traditionally, picture frames have usually been glazed with glass – now though, modern acrylic technology is good enough to replicate the optical performance of glass. eFrame buy the best, so our acrylic (technically called PMMA) showcases your artwork brilliantly from the day you unwrap it to years hence! And it’s lighter, safer and better for us to send via couriers.

But the choice is yours – glass is also available as an option, as is no glazing at all if you need access to the framed artwork. Home and professional picture framers can choose the glazing of their choice with eFrame – and with over 600 mouldings, a myriad of mountboard finishes and colours… the possibilities are almost limitless!

When framing your photos, remember to think about several different things that could add that extra sparkle and touch to your photographs. Try to relate the design of the large photo frame to what is actually happening in the photo. For example, if you’re displaying a beautiful picture of your children, get a funky, colorful and bright frame. If you want to put a picture of your dog or other pet in the frame, you could consider using a frame with the title “I love my dog” or other such phrase.

For all you David Hockney fans out there…

After the huge success of Bigger Trees Near Water (a ginormous landscape painting that covered 50 canvases [I think this is too big even for us to frame! - Ed]) at the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition back in 2007 – principle curators Edith Devaney and Marco Livingstone approached Hockney for a possible exhibition in 2011 which he said he’d only do if he were able to capture four seasons over four years. The result is David Hockney: A Bigger Picture – the most ambitious project in the Academy’s 244 year history combining the scale and grandeur of Anish Kapoor’s 2009 collection with the intimacy and vividness from The Real Van Gogh exhibition in 2010.

Display photos in our home with loved ones or favorite animal was and remains a very common way of decor, whether or display photos from the era of modern pictures, how exposure is very important, and where photos are placed in our house. Photographs are framed in frames that can blend so many styles of interior design and many colors available.
