Delivery Status 6/1/10 at 11am

Please see below the latest update on the Network with weather conditions and delivery status 06/01/2010

Scotland & Ireland – Continued snowfall in most areas of Scotland. Very low temperatures and treacherous driving conditions.

Aberdeen

  • Only 2 UK Express vans still to arrive (both scheduled to be there by 930am)
  • Many roads have now been closed in all rural areas. The city deliveries have not been affected yet.
  • AB31, AB33, AB34, AB35, AB37, AB38, AB42, AB43, AB45, AB51, AB53, AB54, AB55 and AB56 postcodes are mainly non accessible.
  • Snowdrifts are causing havoc!

Glenrothes

  • A backlog in beginning to build because of impassable roads.
  • The Fife district has also ran out of salt and the roads have not been treated.
  • Last two trailers running over 1.5hrs late due to weather and were expected to arrive at 0900 and 0910 respectively.
  • All PH postcodes are badly affected. KY and DD postcodes are affected in their rural areas.

Edinburgh

  • Snow and ice still causing great concern.
  • The east at present has very heavy snowfall.
  • All border towns are inaccessible with several roads being closed.
  • Still waiting on trailer. ETA 1100hrs.

Motherwell

  • Severe weather conditions in and around ML and KA postcodes.
  • Up to date and all deliveries will be attempted (weather permitting)

Glasgow

  • Up to date and all deliveries will be attempted (weather permitting)
  • Severe weather conditions in and around ML and KA postcodes

Carlisle

  • All areas have terrible road conditions and further weather warnings have been issued.
  • The A7 has been closed and 6 vehicles have been returned to the depot (approx 350 cons).
  • No TD postcodes will be delivered today.

Belfast

  • All deliveries will be out today and delivered.
  • Snow has stopped but conditions are difficult and dangerous.

Inverness

Many areas affected by the bad weather and the rollover from previous days failed deliveries. All freight to Stornoway (Postcodes HS1 – HS9) has been delayed due to the cancellation of the ferry.

SOUTH WEST REGION

Snow is affecting more parts of the Region.

  • Bicester – No deliveries only 1 trailer inbound from Hub.
  • Bournemouth – No current issues all deliveries out.
  • Bristol – 12 Routes out limited deliveries.
  • Cardiff – No deliveries emergency request only.
  • Cowes – Depot Closed.
  • Exeter – Minimal deliveries.
  • Gloucester – 25% of routes out but struggling with conditions
  • Kidderminster – Limited deliveries 75% on the road.
  • Okehampton – 4 routes delivering but conditions poor.
  • Portsmouth – No inbound freight from Hubs.
  • Plymouth – No deliveries emergency requests only.
  • Southampton – No inbound freight from the Hubs.
  • Swansea – Limited deliveries poor conditions.
  • Swindon – Limited deliveries poor conditions.

All Depots with the exception off Cowes have Staff on site who are sorting freight for deliveries tomorrow weather permitting.

All Depots have people manning the phones so contact is available however emergency request only will be considered.

LONDON REGION

Most areas in South East, East, central and Northern London are ok with weather at this time but is should be noted that snow is falling quite heavily and steadily already.

Potential hotspot areas include parts of the HA, HP, SG, and EN postcodes.

The south west and west of London have been more affected and will have delivery issues, particularly in CR, SM, SL and some TW and UB postcodes.

If snow continues to fall as it is now, more areas may be affected during the course of the day.

Please also note we are holding a lot of freight in Heathrow for High Wycombe, Southampton N1 & N2, Portsmouth N1 & N2 Reading N1 & N2, Basingstoke N1 & Bicester N2

SOUTH EAST REGION

The following Depot’s have been severely affected by the snow and are not open today / until further updates are known

  • Gatwick Network 1
  • Gatwick Network 2
  • Basingstoke
  • Reading Network 1
  • Reading Network 2
  • High Wycombe
  • Guildford

Epsom Depot expects to clear about 50% of the deliveries today, with a listing below

Postcodes not going out today 06.01.10

All of T6 (GU34 – GU35)

All of T11 (GU12-5, GU12-6, GU15, GU16, GU18, GU19, GU20, GU47 + Various GU17)

All of T21 (GU26, GU27, GU9-8)

All of T20 (KT3, KT4, SM3, SM4) KT3-3 is OFD on T3

All of GU51, GU52

All of GU24

All of GU21, GU22 and GU23.

The rest of the East coast Depot’s are currently operating ok but are expecting heavy snow tonight and tomorrow.

NORTH REGION

  • Further to notes below Oldham , Manchester 1 Warrington  and Liverpool all refers to traffic held yesterday .No fresh traffic (i.e. today’s receipts) is being attempted at these depots,
  • In addition we have a trailer with 20 cages stuck at Man1 for Preston depot from Monday Night.
  • Newcastle – Awaiting last trunk (major accident on A1M) but will hold that traffic plus NE66 postcode.
  • Durham – Last trunk stuck at head of the estate plus expecting a flyer (Van) from Wednesbury. Will decide in next half hour but likely to hold along with all DL postcodes. 15 drivers out on road from a total of 52.
  • Leeming – Everything out but some treacherous side roads so expect a large return.
  • York – holding YO21 and YO22 but will attempt everything
  • Leeds – Still sorting but Likely and Harrogate particularly problematic. Estimate about 700 to 800 held
  • Morley – N1 traffic late in and 28 cages to be left on floor. N2 side about 30 not loaded but  again treacherous side roads
  • Sheffield 3 runs on floor awaiting drivers who are struggling in S32 and S33 post codes held
  • Rotherham – Have mixed yesterdays and todays and will attempt flat (safer) areas
  • Scunthorpe One route awaiting a driver but otherwise all out
  • Oldham – Hoping to get 5 to 6 routes out but main problem is that traffic cannot get off the estate. Main roads OK but side roads equally impassable.
  • Manchester 1 – 18 – 19 routes out but will not be able to do normal productivity. An attempt to reduce the backlog. 3 trunks from yesterdays dispatches still to be processed.
  • Manchester 2 – more hopeful as a higher proportion of B to B deliveries on main roads. SK13 OL3 and OL5 postcodes held
  • Warrington – Two local drivers only out at moment. Trunk stuck in the yard hampering plus lack of staff who are able to get in.
  • Wigan – 18 vans out – L1,2 and 8 on floor without driver at moment as are L5, L20 and L21, L22, L23 L37 and L39, L 25, 26 and 27 (even if driver gets in these post codes will be very difficult)
  • Liverpool 31 routes are out but drivers reporting back that it is dangerous and may well return to depot
  • Following post codes not being attempted L39,40 WN 5,6,8 and WA2,3 and 5
  • Preston – BB areas struggling but just 300 not being attempted.

MIDLANDS REGION

Heavy snow affecting the majority of the Region. There were many failed deliveries from yesterday which will go out today

Depots mainly affected are as follows though all traffic will be going out for delivery and attempted where possible.

  • Stafford
  • Stoke
  • Shrewsbury
  • Derby
  • Nottingham
  • Leicester
  • Milton Keynes
  • Chester
  • Bangor
  • Lincoln – Post codes affected NG22 – NG25 / NG31 & NG32
  • Grantham

Chester Depot are experiencing severe icy conditions and at present have a number of routes still on the floor due to drivers not being able to get into the depot. We will endeavour to clear as much of this freight as possible.

Buxton deliveries will not be attempted today as the A53 and A537/A54 closed. Heavy snowfall already on the ground plus more fell last night.

Postcodes affected SK17 0, SK17 6, SK17 7, SK17 8 AND SK17 9

OFFSHORES AGENTS

  • Channel Islands

Any traffic collected last night for all customers has missed connections and will incur a 24 hour delay

Any traffic actually in Jersey and Guernsey that was due for delivery today will be delayed due to many businesses and schools being closed

  • Isle of Man

There is now 2 days worth of traffic to clear, though they are still having bad weather that will mainly affect side roads etc. Everything is out for delivery today.
