Creative uses of frames and mounts

Picture frames are most commonly used for photographs and pieces of artwork – either for their aesthetic quality or in order to display memories. However, you don’t have to be confined to those items only when you are looking to fill frames with attractive and important things.

Postcards

A great way of displaying something attractive that also means something to you is by putting postcards in frames. These can be postcards that you have collected from the places you have been to visit, or postcards you have received from people.

This is a great way to add a personal touch to your décor, as the postcards will say something about your favourite cities and destinations or they will say something about what your friends and family have picked out for you. They are also usually of standard photo sizes so are easy to put on show.

Mementos

Things like gig tickets, autographs, sketches, letters and greetings cards look great in frames. They are also make up a really original and unique piece of decoration. It is a little unconventional, but represents a welcome break from all the photos on display.

To display these items together in an attractive collection, pick out a large picture frame with a multi opening mount and see the effect of displaying these very personal things for yourself.
