Traditionally, picture frames have usually been glazed with glass – now though, modern acrylic technology is good enough to replicate the optical performance of glass. eFrame buy the best, so our acrylic (technically called PMMA) showcases your artwork brilliantly from the day you unwrap it to years hence! And it’s lighter, safer and better for us to send via couriers.

But the choice is yours – glass is also available as an option, as is no glazing at all if you need access to the framed artwork. Home and professional picture framers can choose the glazing of their choice with eFrame – and with over 600 mouldings, a myriad of mountboard finishes and colours… the possibilities are almost limitless!

When framing your photos, remember to think about several different things that could add that extra sparkle and touch to your photographs. Try to relate the design of the large photo frame to what is actually happening in the photo. For example, if you’re displaying a beautiful picture of your children, get a funky, colorful and bright frame. If you want to put a picture of your dog or other pet in the frame, you could consider using a frame with the title “I love my dog” or other such phrase.

Nowadays, it is becoming more common for people to hang framed pictures up to improve the look of their décor. This is the main reason why these frames must be chosen with care.

You should always seek the advice and help of an experienced custom framer because these people are highly trained in the area and are guaranteed to provide results each and every time. However, it is still vitally important that you choose the right frame in the first place for your artwork.

A lot of people like to buy picture frames that are quite intricate – these kinds of frames are primarily used for ornamental reasons. On the other hand, if you would like your picture the focus of the room, then a simple frame is the best option. This has the added ability of not stealing the attention away from your photo but still complements the look of it.

Wooden picture frames are a very popular choice nowadays because of the classic look they can give your pictures. These look best with more traditional pieces of artwork but can work with any style of picture.

Picture frames serve two main purposes – one is to enhance the look of your artwork and to draw the viewer in. The second is to protect and preserve it for as long as possible.

Until recently, most picture frames were made from wood; however this is not the case now. There are several materials available but aluminium is one of the most common.

Of course glass is often the most popular choice amongst buyers. However, you have the option to purchase Plexiglas if you are worried about it smashing or breaking. The purpose of both of these is to protect your pictures and photos from any potential damage.

There is glass available that is able to guard the photograph from ultra-violet rays, the material used for this is transparent and almost impossible to notice.

There are several jobs of the picture frame and mount, but the 2 main ones are to enhance the look of your artwork and to protect and preserve it for years to come.

You should seek the advice and guidance of a professional picture framer if you are contemplating getting your picture, photograph or artwork framed. Each individual piece of artwork is different therefore each must be framed differently.

Framers are always there to advise you on the best type of frame and mount would be for your picture. This guidance will prove useful if you are struggling to find the perfect pair for your artwork.

The other job of a frame and mount is to protect your artwork. They can stop dirt and dust from collecting on your picture therefore preserving it for longer. Moisture as well as heat can also damage your artwork and the frame stops this from occurring.

The frame and mount both have separate jobs for your artwork. They both offer protection and preservation for your picture and also they both enhance the appearance of it. This is why you must ensure you choose the perfect frame and mount.

It is very important that you get rid of the parts of the picture you do not want. You do not want un-needed space between the edge of the picture and the mount as this will not look very good.

Having a wide mount and a neutral mount colour will increase the effectiveness of your photographs. One of the main jobs of a mount is to attract more attention towards the artwork you’re placing it around. So for this reason, you should have a neutral mount colour to ensure that the mount doesn’t take any attention away from your picture.

You must put a lot of care into choosing your frame’s colour, as brightly coloured frames can take away from the beauty of your pictures.

It is not difficult to see why many people struggle to find the right frame for their picture – the range of different frames available is huge.

This leads to people making the wrong choice and getting the style of the frame they choose wrong. This can also result in the picture frame costing more than it should.

Fortunately, nowadays you can have a custom picture frame made for you. This takes away the difficulty of finding the perfect ready-made frame because you can customise it yourself.

Of course, you can do all of this on the internet with certain companies. Sometimes you can even upload your picture so you are able to see how the final thing will turn out. This can come in very useful when choosing your frame.

Once you have designed your picture frame and have chosen the best one possible, then you must take this to a professional picture framer to ensure you have best overall results. This way, you do not have to worry about ruining your picture by framing it yourself.

Online picture framers are there to assist you in every way possible when it comes to choosing the perfect frame for your artwork. They will give you guidance on the best looking frame for your picture and also advise you on the mount as well.

The most popular choices of frame are aluminium and wooden. These can come in a wide variety of different sizes, colours and shapes. Because frames can be made from most types of wood, a professional picture framer is able to create the specific frames you may be after.

You should keep in mind that if you are unable to find the right size frame you want, then custom-made picture frames can be built for you. This will allow you to customise nearly every aspect of the frame to suit your artwork.

Aluminium and wooden picture frames have the ability to look great with almost any type of artwork you may have.

If you are looking to add a personal touch to the interior of your home, then consider investing in some artwork to make this happen. Pictures and photos are a great way to show off your personality.

When you have decided on the artwork you would like to frame, the next step is to choose the picture frame you would like to put around it. There is a wide array of frames available made from wood, metal and many other materials.

Aluminium frames are always a great option if you are framing a more modern piece of artwork. Likewise, if you have a more traditional piece, then you might want to look at wooden picture frames instead. It is vitally important that you make the correct choice as the right one can really bring your artwork to life.

It can be a difficult task to find and choose the perfect picture frame for your artwork. Having to choose the right colour can add to this, making it even more difficult. However, with an experienced picture framer at hand, you shouldn’t have too much trouble choosing the right one.

It is always a good idea to have a black, white or grey coloured frame when framing a fairly colourless piece of artwork. This way, the frame will not distract the viewer’s attention away from the picture.

It is also worth remembering that lightly coloured frames are perfect for artwork containing light colours also. Silver is good for putting with blues, purples and whites as it compliments them.

If you are planning on framing more brightly coloured artwork, then a dark frame is a good choice. These go great with yellows, reds and orange colours. More classy and traditional picture frames use a darker wood to enhance the look of the picture.

It’s moments like this—ordinary to the common eye and striking to the uncommon—that have made the list of finalists to Frames of My City, an eight-week-long photography competition which began on 29 August.

It can seem like a daunting task trying to find the perfect frame and mount for your artwork that will look great. However, with the help of a professional picture framer, this seemingly difficult task becomes easy. They will advise you on the best type of frame and mount for your picture.

Professional picture framers will ensure that you make the best choice possible when choosing your picture frame. Their advice is top quality and will aid you in your choice. Not only do they have frames on offer however, they also have picture mounts that can help enhance the look of your artwork and also help protect it.

When a mount is put with a frame, it gives a great enhancement to the look of your artwork. Furthermore, it gives protection against things that may detract from the quality of your picture like moisture, dirt and grime.

You shouldn’t have to settle for second best when it comes to choosing a picture frame for your artwork – the options nowadays are very wide.

It is critical that you put some serious thought into the style of frame you would like and also how it will look in the room you’re placing it in.

It is also important to decide whether you should go for a ready-made or a custom-made frame. You should go for a custom frame if you cannot find the right size ready-made frame (your picture is not of a usual size). This gives you almost complete customisation over the look of your frame.

If you have thought carefully about your decision, you can be ensured that you have not settled for second best but have chosen the optimum frame for your picture.

Injecting colour into your home is always a great idea – especially if you have a dull, boring décor. You should think about having a piece of artwork framed to make this happen.

A picture frame will augment the whole look of your artwork. A new frame will give the picture a brand new look and will make it more attractive. The frame also serves as protection against any potential damage.

If you by any chance choose the wrong style of frame and mount, then the look of your artwork will be negatively affected. After spending a big amount of money on your picture, ensure you spend some time thinking about how you would like it to look. This job becomes so much easier through the help of a professional picture framer. This is because their knowledge in the subject is very wide and they can guide you through the whole process.

If you are framing a black and white picture, then a bright, vibrant frame can create a beautiful, striking contrast.

Custom Mirrors

Whenever you step into a room of any house, there is a very good chance that you will find at least 1 mirror in there. This is why having beautiful looking mirrors is so important.

Fortunately, you will be able to use nearly any style of frame with your mirror. Choosing the right size of mirror is crucial for deciding where you are going to place it. After you have chosen your size, then you will need to decide on your frame. Thankfully there are always professional picture framers ready to give you high quality advice and guidance. The type of frame that is chosen will heavily depend on the style of room you are placing it in.

If you have a modern, contemporary styled interior, then you should consider having an aluminium frame placed around it to fit in with your décor. Likewise, if you have a more classic style of décor, then you should think about having a wooden mirror frame instead.

Custom made frames are available if you cannot find the right frame for your mirror. Your room will take on a bigger feel and will look a lot more welcoming with a mirror hung inside of it. But what type of frame should you choose?

Classic wooden frames or aluminium

If you have the advice and guidance of a Framer behind you, then choosing the perfect frame for your mirror should not be a difficult task.

Wooden frames and aluminium frames are amongst the most popular with customers due to their wonderful look and enhancement capabilities. These frames can augment just about any mirror and come in a vast range of different styles.

Custom frames made from wood and metal can be made if your mirror is not of a standard size and you would like a specific style. By going down the custom route, you will be guaranteed your frame will be perfect.

Custom Mounts

Unfortunately mounts aren’t one of the first things that spring to mind when most people think about framing their artwork. Nevertheless, you must still opt for a picture mount when you frame your picture as they can give much greater protection.

There are as many mounts available as frames nowadays. The array of different mounts is huge. You must seriously think about which mount you would like for your picture as the wrong one can take away from the look of your artwork.

If you are struggling to find a ready made mount to suit your picture, then custom made ones are on offer to you. You will have no trouble finding the perfect mount for your picture then, because you have a lot of customisation options. One thing you must do however is take very accurate measurements of your artwork to make sure that your frame and mount fits perfectly.

Custom Frames

If you plan on spending a large amount of money on a new picture, then you should seriously consider having this framed to augment the look of it fully. You should also consider coupling this frame with a mount for extra looks and protection.

It can be a tedious task to choose the correct frame and mount for your artwork since there is such a wide variety available to you. Furthermore, you must couple this with the right mount – you could be there for a long time.

Custom frames can save you a lot of time trying to find the perfect frame for your artwork as you have almost complete customisation over the details of it. For example, style, colour, size etc.

You should try to do this online – it is guaranteed to save you time and money instead of going to a high street framer where some of the quality of craftsmanship may be compromised. Professional picture framers are always at hand if you are still having trouble, their advice and guidance is of the highest quality and they will help make the process simple and easy.
